New Member Of The Revolution

Long time members of The Comic Book Revolution will remember back in the day when I was the only member of The Revolution.  Since those early days, I have tried to expand The Revolution and add additional bloggers who I felt brought something special to the table.  Each additional member of The Revolution was designed to give The Revolution more depth and range.

Having said that, there is no doubt that The Revolution is heavily weighted with comic books from Marvel, DC, Image, Dynamite and Boom.  Also, the super hero genre clearly dominates the titles that The Revolution regularly reviews.

I have noticed a steady increase in comments and e-mails asking The Revolution why we don't review more indie titles and titles dealing with genres outside of the super hero genre.  The requests have gotten numerous enough that I finally decided to address this issue.

I am proud to annoucne the addition of a new blogger to The Revolution: Austin.  I met Austin at my local comic shop a while back.  We would sit in the comfortable and chic lounge of my local comic shop (yes, my local comic shop is the best shop ever) and talk comics.

Austin is a complete and total indie comic reader.  Austin's weekly stack of comics is the total opposite of mine as he almost never has anything from DC, Marvel or Image in his stack.  Austin is as hardcore an indie comic reader as you are going to meet.

I was impressed with Austin's intelligence and his ability to break down and critique a comic book.  Austin also has a real passion for indie comic books that you don't often find.  So, I figured it only made sense to have Austin join The Revolution and bring some hard hitting reviews of indie comic books.

Welcome to The Revolution, Austin!  I know all the indie comic book fans are excited that I have finally gotten off my lazy ass and addressed this defect of The Comic Book Revolution.

Welcome aboard!
I remember my first indie comic. It was a black and white book that was starting to gain popularity. It was called Cerebus and is still one of my favorites.
I look forward to reading your reviews.
Viva la revolucion!

Rokk, I actually miss the old days. Your taste in comics appeals to me more than the other members of the Revolution.

Also, can we go back to the colorful Legion graphics for the Revolution? I don't know what you think is so appealing about black and white photos of controversial revolutionaries. Please...superheroes, not political figures!!

@Anonymous: Thanks for the kind words! I was not too sure how many old timers from the very start of The Revolution still came around here.

Yeah, things were fun at the beginning of this blog. At the time I was an associate at my law firm and had no kids. Now? I am a partner and have two kids! That cut into my time to blog. My choices were to either shut down The Revolution or recruit some more members. I went with recruiting more members! We'll keep trying to do our best in our reviews.

About the banner, well, don't worry. There are big changes in store for The Revolution and things are not going to look the same around here once the changes take place! Stay tuned!
